Dr Tarun Aurora

Dr. Tarun Aurora is a dual-trained pediatric and adult hematologist with a passion for improving the transition of care for individuals with sickle cell disease. He completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where a deep commitment to lifespan sickle cell care was cultivated. This led to a fellowship in pediatric and adult hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. Dr. Aurora is actively engaged in research focused on optimizing the transition process from pediatric to adult sickle cell care, with an emphasis on patient-centered interventions and health system improvements. With global research experience in Brazil, Uganda, and Ghana, he is also dedicated to medical education for trainees. He has acheived numerous teaching and research accolades while advancing care for his patients and their families.
