Yvonne M. Carroll, RN, JD, is the Program Director in Hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. With a diverse background as a nurse, researcher, lawyer, and patient advocate, she is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD).
She is on the board of several professional organizations, is a co-investigator on multiple SCD collaborative grants, and has published in highly respected peer-reviewed journals.
Her work in SCD has earned her several prestigious awards, and has made her a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally.
She co-founded the Sickle Cell Nursing Excellence Train-the-Trainer Bootcamp, which has trained nurses across 23 states and 9 countries on providing evidence-based care for individuals with SCD.
Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Tennessee and a law degree from the University of Cincinnati. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is a wife, mother, and U.S. Navy veteran.
