Stephanie Ibemere, PhD, RN is an assistant professor in the Duke School of Nursing, affiliate faculty in the Duke Global Health Institute, and Associate Director of the Nursing Center for Evidence Based Practice for the IVAN Research Institute. Dr. Ibemere is focused on improving the clinical model of care for sickle cell disease in differently resourced settings across Africa and the U.S. using nurse-led care models and implementation science, leveraging technology, and community-engaged research. As a member of the International Association for Sickle Cell Nurses and Professional Associates (IASCNAPA) and the Sickle Cell International Expert Nursing Curriculum Committee (SCIENCC), Dr. Ibemere has provided SCD focused education and capacity building to 120 nurses and counting. SCD Nursing Bootcamp mentees have gone on to impact 1000s of nursing colleagues around the world by ensuring the dissemination of evidence-based practice and guidelines for SCD management.
