Professor Isaac Odame
Dr. Odame is the Hematology Section Head, Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Co-Director of the Hemoglobinopathy Program at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). He is Professor of Pediatrics in the University of Toronto and was Director of Hematology, Department of Medicine from 2013-2024. Odame is the Medical Director of the Global Sickle Cell Disease Network based at the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health and Chair of the World Coalition on Sickle Cell Disease. As Site Principal Investigator, member of Steering Committees and Data Safety Monitoring Boards, he is actively involved in several clinical studies to develop novel disease-modifying treatments for sickle cell disease. Odame is currently Associate Editor of Pediatric Blood & Cancer journal and serves on the Editorial Board of the Lancet Child & Adolescent Health.
