Dr Kofi Anie

Dr Kofi Anie serves as the Psychology Service Lead for patients with sickle cell disease and thalassaemia at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, affiliated with Imperial College London. Additionally, he holds the position of Deputy Clinical Director at the West London Haemoglobinopathies Coordinating Centre. His work has been instrumental in developing national clinical guidelines and standards of care for sickle cell disease in both the UK and Africa. He collaborates on international initiatives and currently holds the position of Visiting Faculty at the West African Genetic Medicine Centre (WAGMC) at the University of Ghana. Dr Anie’s dedication to his field is influenced by a lifelong experience with sickle cell disease within his family. In recognition he was awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for Services to People with Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours
