Biobele J. Brown, MBBS, M.Sc., FWACP (Paed)
Biobele J. Brown is Professor of Paediatrics at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and an Honorary consultant at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. He heads the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology unit. His areas of interest include blood diseases, especially sickle cell disorders and childhood cancers. Prof. Brown is involved in collaborative research studies including SickleinAfrica, Malaria Proteomics with the Medical Research Council London, Paediatric Oncology, and FastMal with the Faculty of Computer Science, University College London and various clinical trials. He is a former President of the Nigeria Society of Paediatric Oncology and currently, site Principal Investigator of several clinical trials on Sickle Cell Disease. He has studied genetic modifiers of sickle cell disease with the support of Centre for Global Health, University of Chicago and newborn screening for Sickle Cell Disease along with the Sickle Cell Support Society of Nigeria.
