Dr. Jane Hankins is a member of the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and her institution's director of the Global Hematology Program. Dr. Hankins has many years of experience running clinical trials for sickle cell disease. She implemented a lifetime cohort study to understand better the role of clinical and genetic predictive factors in the progression of sickle cell disease, SCCRIP. Dr. Hankins’ research interests include applying implementation and dissemination science methods to improve the transition from pediatric to adult care process and to implement newborn screening programs for sickle cell disease in low and middle-income countries.
