Bosede Bukola AFOLABI is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. She has a D.M. from the University of Nottingham, UK for her work in sickle cell pregnancy and is internationally recognised for her research and clinical care in sickle-cell and anaemia in pregnancy. She was recently elected as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science and is lead investigator of several research projects with grants from TETFund, NIH, USA, NIHR, UK and Gates Foundation, amongst others.
She is the Director of the Centre for Clinical Trials and Implementation Science in the University of Lagos, and has authored over 120 publications.
She is also the President of the Association of Fetomaternal Medicine Specialists of Nigeria, and chairs several boards including that of the Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) Specialist Hospital, Lagos and the Advisory Board of Sygen Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
