Dr Moji Awogbade is a consultant haematologist with extensive expertise in sickle cell disease at King’s College Hospital London. She obtained her intercalated and medical degrees in Nigeria and subsequently underwent postgraduate training in the United Kingdom.
Dr Awogbade has contributed to shaping national standards in the United Kingdom including as a member of the editorial board for the clinical care standards for adults with sickle cell disease and as part of the lead team behind National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance on automated red cell exchange transfusion. Dr Awogbade is core member of the National Haemoglobinopathy Panel and served on steering committee of the National Haemoglobinopathy Registry. Dr Awogbade is actively involved in research and has been principal investigator and chief investigator for several multicentre clinical trials in sickle cell disease.
